On 29 October 2026, the Hydrographic Institute welcomed students of the University of Defence and Security “Dr. Franjo Tuđman”, Military naval studies. The students were, once again, accompanied by their professor Toni Meštrović. Tonći Panžić, PhD, Assistant Director for Safety of Navigation and Cartography and Valerija Filipović, Head of the Cartographic Department held lectures and a presentation on the current activities and work of the Institute.
The visit was organised as part of exercises in “Use of hydrography in naval operations”, to give students further educational experience and an insight into the importance of hydrography in naval operations.
This visit continues the long-standing practice of regular student visits to the Hydrographic Institute, aimed at encouraging interest in science and the practical application of knowledge, while also introducing students to the important role hydrographic activities play in navigation and maritime safety.
