Operativna oceanografija - Povećanje sigurnosti plovidbe splitskim akvatorijem

Dana 05. siječnja 2018. godine Hrvatski hidrografski institut (HHI) usidrio je valografsku plutaču u Bračkom kanalu koristeći pri tome svoj istraživački brod "Palagruža". Valografska plutača tvrtke Datawell DWR MKIII 0.7m mjeri visinu, smjer, period valova te površinsku temperaturu mora uz autonomiju rada do godine dana bez zamjene baterija.  

Prijenos podataka s plutače do računala smještenog u prostorijama HHI -a odvija se preko HF linka uz maksimalni domet od 50km. Zbog bolje vidljivosti u uvjetima smanjenje vidljivosti i noći valografska plutača opremljena je žutim led svjetlom (5 bljeskova svakih 20 s) vidljivim 4 NM. Prikupljeni i obrađeni podaci koristit će se za povećanje sigurnosti plovidbe splitskim akvatorijem.
