On 20 July 2026, the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Croatia issued an official Notice directed at construction investors, project proponents, and maritime domain concession holders.

The Notice serves as a reminder of the statutory obligations to submit data regarding structures, interventions, and activities undertaken within the internal waters, territorial sea, Exclusive Economic Zone, and continental shelf of the Republic of Croatia.

Prior to the commencement of any works, investors and project proponents are legally required to submit the prescribed data to the competent Harbour master’s office, with a copy to the Hydrographic Institute of the Republic of Croatia (HHI). Furthermore, upon the completion of construction, reconstruction, or project activities, a certified hydrographic as-built survey report, compiled on the basis of a proper hydrographic survey, must be forwarded to the HHI. Such hydrographic reports may only be prepared by the Hydrographic Institute of the Republic of Croatia or by a legal entity holding a valid authorization from the Ministry to conduct the appropriate part of hydrographic surveying. Data gathered via these surveys shall attain official status solely upon review and verification by the HHI.

Investors and proponents of existing projects and structures not yet included in official nautical charts and publications are urgently called upon to comply with the obligations and deadlines set out in this Notice.
