5. Međunarodna konferencija o pomorskoj znanosti – 5th INTERNATIONAL MARITIME SCIENCE CONFERENCE - IMSC 2013. održava se 22. i 23. 04. 2013. u Solinu u hotelu President u organizaciji Hrvatskog hidrografskog instituta i Pomorskog fakulteta iz Splita, te u suorganizaciji s Pomorskim fakultetima iz Portoroža (Slovenija) i Kotora (Crna Gora). Pokrovitelji Konferencije su Međunarodna pomorska organizacija (International Maritime Organization-IMO) i Ministarstvo pomorstva , prometa i infrastrukture, Grad Solin, Županija Splitsko-dalmatinska, Plovput, Hrvatski registar brodova, Lučke uprave Split i Ploče.

U ime Hrvatskog hidrografskog instituta, na svečanosti otvorenja su sudjelovali pomoćnici ravnatelja Vinka Jurić i doc. dr. sc. Nenad Leder koji se kraćim izlaganjem obratio nazočnima.

O Konferenciji: IMSC 2013. se bavi suvremenim pomorstvom, sigurnošću plovidbe, očuvanjem morskog okoliša, hidrografijom, pomorskim informacijskim sustavima, financijama u pomorstvu, pomorsko pravnom regulativom, zdravstvom u pomorstvu, nautičkim turizmom, razvojem luka, razvojem modernih tehnologija za prijevoz tereta morem, ljudskim resursima i obrazovanjem u transportu i dr.

Na konferenciji će se prezentirati radovi inozemnih znanstvenika i stručnjaka (Brazil, Poljska, Švedska, Crna Gora, Srbija,Slovenija, Finska, Slovačka, Velika Britanija i dr.) čime se pridonosi međunarodnom razvoju i ugledu konferencije.

Ovogodišnja novost je organizacija ekonomskog foruma u cilju sinergije znanosti i gospodarstva. Na forumu će se predstaviti tvrtke iz Republike Hrvatske i inozemstva s projektima vezanim za RH.
