Hydrographic Institute of the Republic of Croatia implemented QR codes to official navigational charts and publications

The Hydrographic Institute of the Republic of Croatia (HHI), as the Croatian national hydrographic service and authorised body for issuing and maintaining the official navigational charts and publications, implemented QR codes to all its products.

The goal of this innovative action is to further increase maritime safety and improve the availability of up-to-date information to all users of the official navigational charts and publications, including professional mariners, yachtsmen, and other maritime stakeholders.
HHI regularly keeps its official charts and publications up to date through its monthly Notice to Mariners, as the sole official source of information on changes, amendments and validity of nautical charts and publications.

Using the QR code, users will have an easier access to the information on:
   - requirement to update the charts or publications,
   - validity of the chart or publication,
   - availability of new editions.

Use:
Scan QR code on the chart or publication and access relevant information on the actualities and save your search time.
Nonetheless, QR code provides additional assistance to users. It does not replace the obligation to observe official editions of the Notice to Mariners, which remains the sole official source of information on changes, amendments and validity of nautical charts and publications.

The implementation of QR code is part of the ongoing activities by HHI in modernising and improving its products with the goal to provide reliable, up-to-date, and easily accessible information to all users.
We invite the users to continue regularly observing the official Notices to Mariners and to use possibilities offered by QR codes for checking latest updates to the charts and publications.
