Srđan Kosmos and Zvonimir Drezga, representatives from the Nautical department of the Hydrographic Institute of the Republic of Croatia (HHI), participated in the professional training organised by PRIMAR, attended by select delegates from MBSHC member states. The training programme took place from 16 to 18 June 2026 at the premises of the Shom hydrographic office in Brest, France.
Throughout the intensive three-day programme, participants examined core subjects within warning systems and radiocommunications. Particular emphasis was placed upon MSI broadcasting via NAVTEX, NAVDAT, and EGC systems. Furthermore, the programme provided an introduction to the new S-124 standard, outlining its objectives and fundamental principles. The course concluded with a practical segment, incorporating workflow demonstrations and interactive exercises.
The participation of the Nautical department representatives has secured vital expertise regarding MSI structures and the implementation of the S-124 standard, thereby enabling HHI to enhance its system for collecting and distributing navigational warnings. The application of these global standards remains pivotal to modernising maritime services, ultimately elevating the standard of navigation safety, safeguarding human life, and increasing the efficiency of maritime transport within the Adriatic Sea.
