HHI representative attends annual meeting of the IHO Hydrographic Surveys Working Group (HSWG)

From 30 September to 4 October 2024, the regular annual meeting of the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) Hydrographic Surveys Working Group (HSWG, URL: https://iho.int/en/hswg) was held in Frascati, Italy. The meeting took place at the European Space Research Institute (ESRIN) in Frascati. The Hydrographic Institute of the Republic of Croatia has two members in the HSWG working group. At the 7th HSWG meeting, Croatia was represented by Ljerka Vrdoljak, Head of the Hydrographic Department.

The agenda of the five-day meeting included topics related to the main objectives of the HSWG: maintaining and promoting the use of IHO publication S-44 (Standards for Hydrographic Surveys), and updating and maintaining IHO publication C-13 (IHO Manual on Hydrography). Delegates from hydrographic offices worldwide, along with industry representatives, exchanged best practices and challenges, and discussed new systems, technologies, and methodologies in the context of hydrographic surveys.
