HHI representative at the “P-20 MSDI and Database Management Training” in Istanbul

In the joint organization by the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO), the Hydrographic Commission for the Mediterranean and the Black Sea (MBSHC) and the Office of Navigation, Hydrography and Oceanography of the Turkish Navy (TN-ONHO), the “P-20 MSDI and Database Management Training “ was held in Istanbul for the MBSHC member states from 27 to 29 January 2026.

Marin Jović, HHI’s Hydrographic department representative took part in the training. During the three-day programme, through lectures and practical workshops, participants got an overview of the main concepts, principles, management and services of the Marine Spatial Data Infrastructure – MSDI. Special emphasis was put on the types of geospatial data, their recognition and advantages of utilising geospatial database.

During practical workshop, the participants worked with ArcGIS software to produce S-101 and S-102 products, as well as with ArcGIS Online platform to present data through a webapp.
