In the joint organization by the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO), the Hydrographic Commission for the Mediterranean and the Black Sea (MBSHC) and the Office of Navigation, Hydrography and Oceanography of the Turkish Navy (TN-ONHO), the "S-102, S-104 & S-111 Training" was held in Istanbul for the member states of the MBSHC from 24 to 26 November 2025.

Duje Jelovina and Marko Mlinar, HHI’s Hydrographic and Oceanological Department colleagues took part in the training. During the intensive three-day programme, through lectures and practical workshops, participants improved their knowledge in bathymetric measurements application, sea level and sea currents measuring and modelling for the production and validation of Electronic Navigational Charts (ENC) in line with the S-100 standard.

Through practical work, the participants applied the latest software and tools to create, validate, and update the products in line with the S-102, S-104 and S-111 standards. In addition to professional lectures and workshops, HHI colleagues took this opportunity to exchange experiences with colleagues from other hydrographic organizations.

By participating in this training, HHI colleagues have further improved their expertise and knowledge thereby contributing to strengthening the Institute's readiness to implement new IHO standards in the Republic of Croatia.
