First-year students of the Department of Geography at the University of Zadar visited the Hydrographic Institute of the Republic of Croatia (HHI) on 16 April 2026, accompanied by their professor, Tomo Marelić.

A presentation on the activities, operations and work of the Croatian Hydrographic Institute was delivered by Dr Tonći Panžić, Assistant Director for Navigation Safety and Cartography.

The students also visited the in-house Hydrographic Museum, where they attended a brief lecture on the historical development of hydrographic services, from the earliest hydrographic surveys to the present day.

This visit continues a long-standing tradition of organised visits to HHI, aimed at the professional training of students, a practice that has been maintained for many years.
