The Hydrographic Survey Office carries out hydrographic survey professional tasks, comprising: bathymetric survey, marine geodesy, geodetic survey and recording of features in the coastal area, sea and seabed, marine geology and geophysics, oceanography, and protection of the marine environment in part of importance to hydrography and hydrographic-navigational safety at sea. It also conducts administrative proceedings of fair charts/ survey reports and other survey reports of authorised legal entities verification, maintains and sets up marine databases within its area of competence, organises a network of permanent and temporary data collection facilities, and provides for seaworthiness of the HHI vessels.
The Hydrographic Survey Office consists of three departments: Hydrographic Department; Oceanographic Department; Vessel and Management Department.
