New edition of the Adriatic Sea Pilot, Volume I Savudrijska Vala (Piranski Zaljev) to Virsko More and Volume II Sedmovraće to Rt Oštra, is available to end users from 1 April 2021.
The Adriatic Sea Pilot is an official navigational publication issued by the Hydrographic Institute of the Republic of Croatia. Its contents follow recommendations of the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) and good practices of national hydrographic offices in producing publications of the same kind. Under these principles and taking into account the needs of pleasure craft for private and commercial purposes, as well as commercial and public boats, this publication has been well received among leisure mariners on non-SOLAS ships and other actors in maritime transport for more than 30 years.
In the light of trends in marine leisure sector, this new edition has been enriched by additional plans and photos and complemented by information on nautical anchorages and marine farms. However, the details of port facilities, services, supplies and communications have been omitted as they are subject to frequent changes. The photos have been selected with the specific purpose of completing the picture of an area.
The Adriatic Sea Pilot is intended to be read as a whole, in conjunction with official navigational charts and other official publications of the Hydrographic Institute of the Republic of Croatia. The fact that it includes information relevant for the safety at sea does not exempt mariners from their responsibility to select a navigable route, berth or anchorage, or from other important decisions to be taken during the voyage.
This publication is kept up to date by corrections issued in the Notice to Mariners, which is available free of charge on the HHI website (www.hhi.hr).
