Meetings with Ambassador of the Republic of Korea and Ambassador of Japan

9/24/2017 1:07:00 PM

As part of international cooperation activities of the HHI, and following the common practice of meeting with foreign ambassadors, meetings were held with Ambassador of the Republic of Korea H.E. Mr. Won-sup Park (7 August 2017) and Ambassador of Japan H.E. Mr. Keiji Takiguchi (19 September 2017).

Special interest in the meeting with HHI representatives (Director Vinka Kolić and Assistant Director for International Cooperation Željko Bradarić) is due to the fact that both countries, as full members of the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO), are lobbying through their diplomatic missions in host countries to resolve the naming issue about the sea name between them.

To this end, representatives of embassies of the Republic of Korea and Japan were interested to hear the position of the HHI as a professional institution representing the Republic of Croatia in the IHO.

In addition, the meeting exchanged views on possible cooperation between hydrographic offices in the field of essential tasks of national hydrographic offices: improving the safety of navigation by publishing high-quality and reliable information in official editions of navigational charts and publications.
