The Hydrographic Institute of the Republic of Croatia (HHI) participated at the 67th ELMAR-2025 symposium held in Zadar on 15 September 2025. As part of the programme, the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM), OIV Digital Signals and Networks (OIV), and company ELMAR organised a special module titled “Maritime Communications and Sailing Safety”, within which HHI presented its activities and expertise.

The goal of this module was to present regulatory framework, novelties and trends in maritime communications and maritime safety as well as practical examples of using contemporary digital technologies to achieve sustainable operations and increase in competitiveness.

As our representative, Tonći Panžić, PhD, assistant to HHI director for maritime safety and cartography, held a presentation titled “The Hydrographic Institute of the Republic of Croatia and maritime safety systems in Croatia”. The presentation is a summarised overview of HHI's contribution to the continuous improvement of maritime safety as well as the use of innovative technologies in hydrography.
