Earlier today, 22 September 2026, first-year students (course of study: geodesy and geoinformatics technician) from Split’s Civil Engineering and Geodesy Technical School, accompanied by their teacher Lucija Žižić, paid a visit to the tide gauge of the Hydrographic Institute of the Republic of Croatia (HHI) in Split.
This visit marks the continuation of a long-standing tradition of educational visits to the Hydrographic Institute, designed to give students brilliant, practical insights into the industry. Our colleague, Marko Mlinar, MSc in physics, held a presentation about long-term measurements of sea level heights, i.e. the connection between geodesy, astronomy, marine physics, and meteorology.
Also, HHI invited the students to visit the main office where they can learn more about the past and present application of the knowledge and expertise in geodesy and geoinformatics.
