HHI representative attends IHO Category B Hydrographic Survey Programme

The IHO Category B Hydrographic Survey Programme will take place in Busan, Republic of Korea, at the headquarters of the Korea Hydrographic and Oceanographic Agency (KHOA) from 16 March to 31 July 2026, organised by the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) and the Korea Hydrographic and Oceanographic Agency, and sponsored by the Republic of Korea.

HHI representative will attend the programme based on the application by HHI to the IHO’s capacity building programme. The programme will also be attended by ten other participants from the IHO member states (The Bahamas, Brunei, Cameroon, Colombia, Ecuador, Ghana, Indonesia, Oman, Pakistan, and Uruguay).

The programme lasts for about 20 weeks and includes theoretical lectures with practical exercises, as well as the closing project in which participants apply acquired knowledge in practice.

Marin Jović, from HHI’s Hydrographic department will implement the acquired knowledge in his daily tasks and responsibilities and share it with his colleagues by organising an internal training.

This is a continuation of a series of training programmes organised by IHO and attended by HHI colleagues aiming to promote the hydrographic activity and ensure the informative segment of maritime safety in hydrography.
