HHI in study visit to the Norwegian Hydrographic Institute and PRIMAR/ECC – S-100 standard in practice

In joint organisation by the Norwegian Hydrographic Institute (NHS), PRIMAR, and the Electronic Chart Centre (ECC), “S-100 standard in practice” education was held in Stavanger, Norway on 13 and 14 January 2026.
The education was attended by the HHI representatives.
The main topic of these intensive two days was the implementation of the S-100 standard – universal model for digital hydrographic data, through products whose specifications are based on the standard. The following product specifications were in focus:
S-101 – Electronic Navigational Charts
S-102 – Bathymetric Surface
S-104 – Water Level Information for Surface Navigation
S-111 – Surface Currents
HHI representatives gained valuable knowledge about the working processes of their Norwegian colleagues aiming to apply the best practices in their own daily work and operations and to improve the development of S-100 products in Croatia.
