The Hydrographic Institute of the Republic of Croatia (HHI), represented by the director Vinka Kolić Bubić, participated in the scientific-expert conference “Safety and Security in Tourism 2025” organised under the auspices of the Split-Dalmatia County and Split and Dalmatia County Tourist Board. The conference was organised by the Hydrographic Institute of the Republic of Croatia, Faculty of Maritime Studies of the University of Split, and Croatian Chamber of Economy.
Various tourism, maritime, legal and cybersecurity experts participated in the conference with the aim to share experience and discuss current challenges in tourism, with special focus on data protection and cybersecurity, nautical tourism as well as safety and security in harbours and ports.
Panel discussion on current challenges in safety and security in the Croatian tourism gathered leading experts such as HHI director, Vinka Kolić Bubić, Marija Boban, PhD, professor at the Faculty of Law in Split and chairman of the Cybersecurity Legislation Committee of the Croatian Institute for Cybersecurity, Željana Zovko, European Parliament representative and Vice president of the EPP Group, Matea Dorčić, LL.M., Head of the Administrative department for tourism, maritime, and transport of Split-Dalmatia County, Ivana Vladović, Director of the Split and Dalmatia Tourist Board, associate prof. Petar Mišević, PhD, advisor to the President of the Croatian Chamber of Economy and Vice chancellor of the University North, Merica Slišković, PhD, tenured professor at the Faculty of Maritime Studies of the University of Split, and Captain Petar Bubić, Chairman of the Croatian Maritime Pilots Association.
At the conference, several scientific-expert presentations were held covering diverse topics related to the safety and security in tourism.
