On 5 May 2026, the Croatian Hydrographic Institute (HHI) hosted students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geodesy at the University of Split, accompanied by Assistant Professor Ljerka Vrdoljak. The visit was organised as part of coursework for the Hydrographic Surveying module, delivered in the third year of the undergraduate programme in Geodesy and Geoinformatics.

A presentation on the activities and work of the Croatian Hydrographic Institute — particularly its Cartography, Hydrography and Oceanology departments — was delivered by Tonći Panžić, PhD, Assistant Director for Maritime Safety and Cartography, and Ante Glavurdić, Assistant Director for Hydrographic Surveying.

The students also visited the in-house Hydrographic Museum, where they attended a brief lecture on the historical development of hydrographic services, from the earliest hydrographic surveys to the present day.

This visit continues a long-standing tradition of organised visits to HHI, aimed at the professional training of students, a practice that has been maintained for many years.
