The Hydrographic Institute of the Republic of Croatia (HHI) participated in the Careers Day at the Faculty of Science in Split on 26 May 2026. On this occasion, HHI was represented by Marko Mlinar, MSc in phys., and Marta Jelenčić, MSc in geol., from the department of oceanology.

Engaging directly with students, HHI showcased its operations and projects, alongside its extensive expertise in maritime cartography, hydrographic surveys of the sea and seabed, and ensuring safety of navigation through the publication of official nautical charts and publications, as well as fulfilling its role as the National Coordinator for Maritime Safety Information (MSI).

Furthermore, students were introduced to the significance of maintaining long-term sea-level measurements, the practical application of data within oceanography, and the modern methods of data measurement and analysis in oceanography and meteorology utilised within HHI.

Throughout the event, students also had the opportunity to discuss options for undertaking work placements at HHI.
