Re-use of the data owned by the HHI in third persons’ products and services (licensing)

To re-use the HHI data in third legal or natural persons’ (users’) analogue and digital products and services, users shall conclude a licence agreement with the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO) according to Licensing Policy and the Custodianship Agreement between HHI and UKHO.

Following an application for re-use of the HHI data to the UKHO Intellectual Property Section (IPS UKHO), the latter shall assess the application and specify the type of licence and the licence fee if any, and users will be invited to conclude a licence agreement.

The licence shall be granted for commercial and/or non-commercial purposes or low-value commercial purposes, depending on whether the products are intended for navigational or non-navigational purposes and subject to the specification of their intended purpose.

Licence for non-commercial purposes or low-value commercial purposes

If you wish to reproduce our data for non-navigational and non-commercial purposes, or for non-navigational and low-value commercial purposes, and you meet the qualifying criteria, you can apply for a licence on-line or complete the application form and email it to the address indicated therein.

Licence for commercial purposes

If you wish to reproduce our data for commercial purposes, please complete the application form and email it to the address indicated therein.

All data that can be used under a licence agreement is contained in official navigational charts and publications. Data is available in vector, raster and textual formats.

Obligation of the HHI under the National Spatial Data Infrastructure Act (Official Gazette No. 56/13) and the INSPIRE (INfrastructure for SPatial Information) Directive 2007/2/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 March 2007 is hereby complied with.
